Baptism is the Christian sacrament whereby one becomes a member of the Church. Baptism (sometimes referred to as a Christening) marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family. For more information on Christian Baptism, please visit the Church of England website.
There are two options when arranging a baptism in our parish. You can either arrange for the ceremony to be part of the main Sunday morning Eucharist at any of the three churches, or you may prefer a more private gathering, usually following the main service. The church does not charge for conducting baptisms, but if you opt for a separate ceremony and require an organist, this will incur a modest fee (£25). For more information, please contact the Reverend Chrissie Little via the parish office.
