In November 2007, the organ at St Peter's, which had served the church for almost two hundred years, finally broke down beyond repair, seriously threatening the long-standing church music tradition at the church.

We are currently trying to raise £150,000 to fund replacement of the organ, so that traditional church music, as well as the popular concert series, can live on at St Peter's.  The new organ will combine traditional pipework with state-of-the-art digital technology in a magnificent 52-stop instrument. Such organs have an impressive world-wide record, having been installed in Hong Kong and Singapore cathedrals as well as being used here in the UK for a while at Worcester Cathedral.

Modern Pipe Organ Solutions Ltd will combine brand new pipework with the renowned digital technology of Rodgers UK Ltd, as well as with three restored and re-voiced historic ranks from the existing instrument. The beautiful eighteenth century case in the North Aisle will be carefully cleaned and restored.
