Lee Rooke BA (Hons)

Assistant Organist

Lee was born in Stevenage in 1987 and it became quickly obvious he was going to be musical. From the age of 9 he sang in church choirs and taught himself the piano before having some tuition at school. He then went on to play the organ, again through teaching himself and watching others' techniques to improve his own and was Organist at St Andrew & St George, Stevenage 2004-2010.

A graduate of Nottingham Trent University in Modern Foreign Languages, Lee has been in Nottingham since 2005. After a year back in Stevenage in 2009-2010, Lee decided to return to complete his PGCE in Modern Languages at the University of Nottingham and has remained in Nottingham, combining his languages teaching role at Kesteven & Sleaford High School Selective Academy with being Assistant Organist at St Peter’s and All Saints’.

Lee is grateful for the opportunity to play the organs at St Peter's and All Saints' and to sing with St Peter's choir when he is not accompanying or conducting them.
