Coffee Room Christmas cards & gifts in the Fairtrade & Christian Bookshop <p>Please support our fairtrade shop - it has competitively priced Christmas cards as well as books and gifts suitable for Christmas presents, and it does benefit the church.</p> <p>Opening hours are 10.30am to 2.00pm on weekdays and after the morning service on a Sunday.</p> <p>We look forward to seeing you soon!</p> Tue, 31 Oct 2017 16:48:02 +0100 Sale Table at Fairtrade & Christian Bookshop <p> </p> <p><img class="center" style="float: left;" src="" alt="" width="246" height="138" title=""/></p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>Have you visited our Fairtrade and Christian Bookshop recently?</p> <p>At present we have a sale table for various beautiful craft items - the items vary from day-to-day so do come in and see what is available.</p> <p>We look forward to seeing you very soon.</p> <p>The shop at the St Peter's Centre is open between 10am and 2.30pm Monday to Friday.</p> Tue, 18 Jul 2017 14:59:07 +0200 New chapter at St Peter’s as Bishop opens shop <p><strong>New chapter at St Peter’s as Bishop opens Fair Trade &amp; Christian Book Shop - Thursday 27th November 2014<br/></strong></p> <p>The Bishop of Sherwood officially opened a new Christian book and gift shop at St Peter’s Church, Nottingham.</p> <p>The Rt Revd Tony Porter said: “Despite the many other distractions in our complex world of 2014, a Christian bookshop in the heart of the city is vital and I am delighted to share in this opening today.</p> <p>“It says to the people of Nottingham you can come here, find out something about Jesus and be treated with dignity.”</p> <p>There has been a small Traidcraft shop in what was originally a store cupboard under the stairs at the cafe next to St Peter’s for a number of years.</p> <p>It was not easy for volunteers to operate from such a confined space, and the stock could not be displayed very effectively so the idea was born to expand the shop into a Christian book and gift shop, especially now that there is no other Christian book shop in the centre of Nottingham.</p> <p>The funds to do this came from an old St Peter's Trust fund, which includes educational purposes within its terms.</p> <p>Church architect Peter Rogan designed the shop, with the help and support of St Peter's and All Saints' site committee.</p> <p>The work was carried out over two weeks in August when the coffee shop was closed, and the newly-expanded shop now carries a range of books, toys, cards, jewellery, bags, scarves, glassware and Fairtrade products.</p> <p>The Revd Christopher Harrison, Vicar of the parish of All Saints, St Mary and St Peter, Nottingham, said: “The idea to expand emerged from an awareness that when the Oasis bookshop closed there was no Christian bookshop in the centre of Nottingham.<br/><br/>“We were aware that there was space here and it was a natural development of the Fairtrade shop.”</p> <p> </p> Tue, 02 Dec 2014 13:16:38 +0100 St Peter's Coffee Room - new website <p>The Coffee Room has a new website - please click <a href="">here</a> to view it!</p> Wed, 30 Jul 2014 10:20:19 +0200 Cake Bakers Urgently Needed to Satisfy Popular Demand <p>The coffee shop desperately needs more donations of cakes to sell during the week.  If you are able to commit to providing a cake, please contact the parish office—even just one day a month would help.</p> <p>Call 0115 948 3658 or email if you think you can help.</p> Sun, 07 Nov 2010 16:39:57 +0100
